The Needs and Options Review is a Low Commitment Consultation that allows the client to get vital feedback from an architect regarding a prospective project. Through this process the client will be able to:

PROCESS

These are the steps that the Architect and Client participate in to complete this process

 

  • Client fills out DESIGN NEEDS ASSESSMENT SHEET

  • Architect completes Preliminary Zoning and Building Code Analysis

  • SITE VISIT – Architect and Client meet on site to review Needs Assessment, Zoning/Code Analysis and discuss options for project

  • Findings Report furnished by Architect


PRICE

The costs for a Needs and Options Review are typically between $350.00 & $500.00.

Pre-Application Meeting Consultation

BASIC INFORMATION

 

Prior to purchasing a property or embarking on a major construction renovation, many building owners wish to know what their project will entail from a Zoning and Building Code standpoint. The municipalities in the Des Moines Metro offer “Pre-App Meetings” to review Permit Process, Site Planning & Engineering, Building Code, Traffic, and miscellaneous issues affecting a building project.  The meeting is brief – typically 50 minutes – and the language and issues can seem foreign to the building owner.  Having an Architect present to interpret and dialogue (on behalf of the building owner) with City Staff can be most helpful in determining project feasibility.

The Pre-Application Consultation is a Low Commitment Consultation that allows the client to get professional input from an architect during the Pre-App Meeting.

Architect completes Preliminary Zoning and Building Code Analysis.

Findings Report furnished by Architect.

Post Conference between Architect and Client to discuss pertinent Zoning and Code issues affecting project.

Architect Site Visit with Realtor and Prospective Buyer

BASIC INFORMATION

Are you considering purchasing a new home? The Architect will meet you and your Realtor at up to three properties. Like the Needs and Options Review offered, this will allow the buyer to:
